UPDATE UCPN MAOIST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET BEGINS Kathmandu, 29 June; Discussions of organization and other issues started at the UCPN central committee Friday. Thirty-one committee members presented their views. ADD TO RUKUM QUAKE Kathmandu, 28 June: A strong quake that hit Rukum Friday afternoon was felt in the Valley as well. No reports of damage or casualties have been received so far. MORE . TASK REVIEWS RELIEF FOR FLOOD AND LANDSLIDE AFFECTED DISTRICTS Kathmandu, 28 June: A task-force at the Office of the Prime Minister Friday reviewed discussed and reviewed relief measures being executed in flood and landslide affected districts in the mid and far-West. Krishna Bari Baskota, Scretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers presided over the meeting of secretaries. Baskota urged implementation of decisions of the cabinet and task force. Work has started on construction of an embankment to present further erosion by Mahakali river and a five kilometer diversion a to connect Darchula with roads. nnnn
