DETAILS OF THURSDAY CABINET DECISION
Kathmandu, 25 July: The
Government has extended the term of the Electoral Constituency Delimitation
Commission (ECDC) by 10 days, RSS reports..
The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday decided to add 10 more days to the term of the Commission formed on June 14. The Commission had however begun working only from June 23. Its term had come to an end on Wednesday.
The term has been extended in order to allow the Commission to complete its work, said spokesperson of the Government and Minister for Information and Communications, Madhav Poudel.
The Cabinet also decided to direct all concerned Ministries to ensure that the relief support to the victims of natural disaster is distributed through a government body, considering the need to hold the CA elections in an impartial manner and the human sentiment associated with the situation following natural disaster that struck various parts of the country of late, said spokesperson Poudel.
Accordingly any individual or institution distributing relief support will have to coordinate with the government body concerned.
The Cabinet also approved the participation of Nepal in the ministerial level meeting of the Nepal-Pakistan Economic Committee under the leadership of Finance Minister Shanker Prasad Koirala. The meeting is to be held in Islamabad of Pakistan on coming August 20 and 21.
Likewise, a decision was taken to send the proposal of the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies to enforce the provision of using two coloured LP Gas cylinders to the Finance and Infrastructure Committee of the Council of Ministers.
The Makwanpur DDC has been granted permission to run the Daman View Tower for the next five years.
The government also decided to provide a financial assistance of one million rupees to Justice Baburaja Karki of the Appellate Court, Jumla, who has been undergoing treatment for liver and kidney ailments.

28 INJURED IN UDAYAPUR
Kathmandu, 25 July: As many as 28 people were injured in a bus
accident at Chuhade, Triyuga Municipality-11 in Udayapur district on Thursday
afternoon, RSS reports from Gaighat..
The bus (Sa 1 Kha 394) heading towards Gaighat from Panchawati skidded off the road and plunged some five meters down the road at Chuhade village.
Altogether 28 persons including the driver were injured when the bus overturned in the field, Police Inspector Baburam Pokharel said.
The injured are receiving treatment at the district hospital.
