Kathmandu, 4 July: Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation
will be the focal point for SAARC and BIMSTEC.
The point was shifted from  the National Planning Commission by the cabinet Thursday.

for the Bhanu Development Foundation to observe the second
centenary celebration of pioneer Bhanu
Bhakta Acharya.

MOTORIST SURVIVES KHUKRI ASSAULT

Kathmandu, 4 July: A motorist was injured but survived a kukri attack
by a gang of about eight persons at Nakkhu in Lalitpur Thursday.
Six kukris were recovered from the incident site.

14 JAPANESE VOLUNTEERS ARRIVE

Kathmandu, 4 July: Fourteen volunteers of f Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) arrived Thursday.

The new batch has two senior volunteers, 10 Japan overseas cooperation
volunteers and two short-term senior volunteers.

JICA has sent 1,228 volunteers to Nepal in 43 years.
