SOME MINISTRY DISCUSSING SECURITY
Kathmandu, 29 July: Home ministry
has convened a security conference Monday to review arrangements for security during
the 19 November polls.
The call comes as both UCPN Maoist and CPn Maoist have
treattened vio9lence during the vote.
The threat by Prachanda in Kavre to deploy UCL against CPN
Maoist opposed to the vote was criticized by parties, including RPP-Nepal
Chairman Kamal
Thapa in Hetauda, Sunday.
‘Even HLPM is spoiling the atmosphere for elections when its
leaders
should be in
villages. Instead, their leaders are going to foreign capitals talking of a
vote,” Thapa said.

FORMER KING RETURNS TO CAPITAL
Kathmandu, 29 July: Former King
Gyanendra and Queen Komal have
returned to the capital after distributing relief materials
to visits of floods and landslides in three-far-West districts.
They were accompanied by the entire family.
Relief was distributed by Himani Trust headed by former
Crown Princess Himani.
