LANDSLIDES DISRUPT TRAFFIC MOVEMENT ON BUTWAL PALPA HIGHWAY

Kathmandu, 11 July: Landslides have disrupted vehicular traffic on the Palpa BUtwal highway.
Mudslides have blocked the road at around a dozen places.

NINE INJURED IN TRUCK ACCIDENT
Kathmandu, 11 July  As many as nine people were injured in a road accident in Sindhupalchowk on Wednesday evening, RSS reports from Chautara. .

The accident took place at Sitapokhari-9. A mini truck (Ba 3 Kha 1535) heading to Nawalpur from Banepa plunged into the Gahate rivulet some 200 metres down from the road.

The truck fell after the driver lost control of the vehicle, said Nawalpur Area Police.

The injured are being treated at Dhulikhel Hospital. The truck driver Raj Kumar Shrestha, Bijaya Shrestha and Laxmi Parajuli who sustained serious injuries have been referred to the Kathmandu Medical College, said Inspector Hari Krishna Khatri.

POACHING DECLINES IN CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
Kathmandu, 11 July: Poaching incidents have decreased at the Chitwan National Park after the locals took initiation to control such activities in the district, RSS reports from Chitwan.

With this initiation, the forest area has also increased. The forests have been handed over to the local communities for their preservation.

Hari Shrestha, president at the District Forestry Coordination Committee, during the inspection of a community forest on Wednesday said that the forests have been handed over to the local users' committees to protect and control the poaching activities.

The only effort of Nepal Government is not enough to control poaching and protect the forest therefore, so, it is handed over to the locals and it has been found progressive, Shrestha added.
