FEMALE WILD ELEPHANT DEAD AFTER BEING ELECTROCUTED
Kathmandu, 5 July: An adult female wild elephant died Wednesday
when it was electrocuted crossing an electric fence at Irautar VDC-8 in
Ilam.
A herd entered the village, on the Ilam and Jhapa districts.
Plans are afoot to set up electric fences around villages for protecting from wild elephant herds from across the border in India.

CHINA SEEKS HELP TO STOP ‘TERRORIST’ ACTS
Kathmandu, 6 July: China has asked Nepal for help to prevent possible
terrorist acts, Chudamani Dahal writes in Annaourna Post.
Such assistance will be helpful to curb such increasing activities.
The Chinese embassy wrote to the foreign ministry three days ago.
China asked Nepal to take strong and effective measures to prevent anti-China activities.
