BAN ON SALE OF CHICKEN MEAT

Kathmandu, 1 Aug.: Chicken meet sale in Valley was banned Thursday to prevent spread of bird flu that surfaced in the capital district and Bhaktapur.

The measure was taken to prevent the flu from spreading to other areas and

humans as well during the summer.

Avian flu breaks out normally in winter.

The ban was also imposed following transport and sale of

infected meat outside districts where the flu broke.
