ELECTION GOVT.’S ONLY RESPONSIBILITY SAYS GOVT.CHIEF

Aug.; Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi has said that
the only objective of the incumbent government is to conduct the election to
the Constituent Assembly in a peaceful, free and fear-free environment on
coming November 19, RSS reports..
Speaking in a felicitation programme organised by the Sakwa Bajrayogini Sangh on the premises of the Bajrayogini Temple at Sankhu Saturday morning, he said the election was indispensable also for writing the constitution. "I call upon one and all to participate to the maximum extent possible in the approaching CA election," he said. Stating that success to the desired extent could not be achieved in the religious tourism sector also as in other sectors due to the prolonged political transition, Chairman Regmi said, adding that it is imperative to hold the election on the designated date also to transform the present transition to stability. He expressed the confidence that timely repair, reconstruction and maintenance of the temples which are an important part of our cultural and religious heritage would help keep our civilization vibrant. Noting that it was the responsibility of the State to protect the religious heritage, Chairman Regmi stressed that the locals too have an equally important role in this task. On the occasion, Chairman Regmi presented Letters of Appreciation to 400 individuals contributing donation in cash and kind to the Shiva Purana religious function held at the Temple. An amount of Rs 9.7 million was collected in the Shiva Purana function, it is learnt. |

DEUBA SAYS ELECTION AS SCHEDULED

Kathmandu, 10 Aug : Nepali Congress senior leader
Sher Bahadur Deuba has assured that the Constituent Assembly (CA) election
will be held on November 19 and efforts were on to bring the dissenting
parties on board, RSS reports..
At a program organized by the Nepali Congress Manang District Committee in the capital today, leader Deuba said that parleys with the poll-opposing were being held to appease them to ensure their participation in the poll. Calling all to be prepared for the upcoming election, the NC leader also claimed that the NC would secure majority in the upcoming CA election. Nepali Congress Manang District President Tek Bahadur Gurung, former minister Palten Gurung and others said that the election should be conducted with the participation of all parties by brining the agitating parties on board. During the programme, NC leader Deuba welcomed different leaders from other parties in the NC. |
