FUGITIVE ARRESTED AFTER 16 YEARS

Kathmandu, 14 Aug.: A man convicted of manslaughter and sentenced five years in jail has been arrested after 16 years on the run, RSS reports from Bhadrapur..

He is 50-year-old Lili Prasad Tamang alias Deuman of Goldhap VDC-2, Jhapa district. He was nabbed by police from hiding at his house on Tuesday, the District Police Office, Jhapa stated.

The District Court, Jhapa had sentenced him in a murder case 16 years back.

“Those found guilty of evading tax should be exposed to public. Anyone involved in playing foul in the revenue paid with the blood and sweat of the people should not be let off the hook.

“Chief Commissioner Karki directed the officials to bring lawyers, doctors, government and non-government organisations, hospitals, educational institutions and consultants among others into the tax net as soon as possible,”
