UPDATE SUSHIL KOIRALA MEETS PRESIDENT

Kathmandu, 3 Aug,: Ahead of his India visit beginning Sunday, NC

President Sushil Koirala held discussions with President Dr. Ram Baran

Yadav Saturday.

Koirala has been invited by India government to discuss Nepali affairs

and will hold meetings with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia

Gandhi.

He will hold discussions with other party leaders and top bureaucrats.

Party general secretaries Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Shitaula

are accompanying Koirala.

LEADERS OF HLPM CONSTITUENTS MEET OPPOSITION PARTY LEADERS

Kathmandu, 3 Aug.: Leaders of HLPM behind the government held

discussions Saturday with leaders of parties opposing the 19 November

assembly election under a status quo .

NC President Sushil Koirala rejected rescheduling the 19 November

election at a meeting with CPN Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidhaya.

Senior NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba held discussions with MJFN

 leader Upendra Yadav.

Chairman Prachanda was scheduled to hold discussions with chief of

Sangiya Samajbadi Morcha Ashok Rai in line with a decision of the

decision of JLPM to hold separate discussions with opposition parties.

In an attempt to split the opposition  alliance.
