RPP PRAISES GOVT. ELECTION COMMISSION

Kathmandu, 2 Aug.:: Rastriya Prajatantra Party( RPP) has requested that the dissenting parties to the 11-point agreement to be responsible for current constitutional and political problems, RSS reports..

Addressing a press conference on Friday in the capital, Chairman of the RPP Surya Bahadur Thapa commended the Government and the Election Commission for the preparations made for the election. The party is excited for election with these activities, said Thapa.

The party also drew the attention of different political parties which have denied to be involved in election process to come to agreement for polls.

Thapa stated that the party sees Constituent Assembly election on November 19 as an opportunity. He directed the party members and sister organizations to participate actively in the election.The party also appealed to other political parties and voters to ensure election environment.

EXTENSION SOUGHT FOR VOTER REGISTRATION

Kathmandu, 2 Aug.:  Chairman of the Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP), Mahantha Thakur, has demanded to extend the time for voters´ list registration although the schedule for election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) has been

At a news conference organised by TMLP District Working Committee at the district headquarters Jaleshwor on Friday, Chairman Thakur blamed that voters´ list was the latest example of discrimination by the government and the state.

He clarified that federalism with identity and constitution with federalism is the need of the country.

At a press meet organized on Friday by the Press Chautari, Dang, he said those aligning with the ex- king can not be democratic and will be finished by themselves.

He also commented that the remark that the former king should be jailed for distributing relief to flood victims of the far west is not good.

On a question of the journalists, he said other parties should also be involved in the High Level Political Committee (HLPC).

He was here to inaugurate the first national statute conference of the ANNFSU, a sister organisation of the CPN-UML.
