Kathmandu, 14 March: Maoists continued their disruption of electioneering with constituent assembly elections just 27 days away.
Chairman Pashupati SJB Rana of the conservative RPP,. claiming his party will be the third largest party in the assembly, Friday charged government didn’t act on complaints of widespread Maoist disturbances of electioneering.
Rana lodged met and lodged a complaint with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala as Rana told the government chief election, with continued Maoist disturbances, cant be free and fair.
Maoists overnight razed the RPP office in Bharatpur, Chitwan, and destroying office, equipment, documents and election material. Maoists disturbed Rana’s public meeting in his home district Sindhupalchowk.
YCL Friday abducted former Congress minister senior leader Shiba Raj Joshi who came in contact with police 12 hours later in Sukhket.
After Maoists charged CPN-UML turned down offers for a left electoral adjustment to improve changes of communists in the vote, strongman Madhav Kumar Nepal Friday indicated there was a possibility if Maoists ’improved’ their behaviour.
“We brought them this far from Rolpa and New Delhi,” Nepal told an election rally in the capital.
Youth rebels in the party and supporters of Upendra Yadav, the chairman of the Madesh Janatantrik Front, have been disturbing the campaign of Sujata, daughter of the prime minister, in Susari.
Sujata is encountering difficulties in the constituency vacated by her father; she is contesting elections for the first time .
