PM Prachanda moves to Baluwatar amid controversy

Kathmandu, 27 Aug: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda moved to the official residence of the government chief at t Baluwatar Wednesday.
He moved there on the 13th day after assuming office and shortly after returning from China.
Prachanda was living in a rented house near Balaju.
From The jungle to the official government quarter, the trip is complete is so far but may hurdles remain.
Major powers haven’t congratulated Prachanda, except India and China—a major problem of international acceptability
Prachanda’s furnishing with Rs 150,000 bed at Baluwatar has already created controversy for the ‘people’s’ government chief.
People and commentators are comparing it with a modest bed of the former king and queen at Najagarjung shown to the them courtesy the outgoing government of Maoists and Congress on protests of former King Gyanendra for violating personal privacy.
Prachanda has already come into controversy for adopting a lavish life-style riding h back of a janajati to wade a river in the mountains while showing off his Rolex watch during a political grip to the remote hills where ordinary people live in hardship.

Nepali shot dead in Atlanta

Kathmandu, 27 Aug: A Nepali working in a department store was shot dead in Atlanta, Georgia, overnight, Radio Nepal said in its Wednesday evening prime news broadcast.
No other details were provided.
But the Nepali was identified as Binod Shrestha.
