Dead British Gurkha soldier identified

Kathmandu, 6 Nov: A British Gurkha soldier killed in Afghanistan has been identified by family.
Rifleman Yubaraj Rai of Khotang was killed in action confirming published agency reports from London.

Kosi victims on strike

Kathmandu, 6 Nov: Flood victims of Kosi river Thursday went on a strike pressing 11 demands including compensation and resettlement and threatened to launch al second phase of protests if demands aren’t met.
Victims, charging government and India didn’t heed their plight, closed down Sunsari district headquarters Inaruwa and protests disrupted normal life in the district.
Nearly 40,000 victims are being cared at camps in Sunsari and Saptari.
Protests coincided with the onset of winter.
