PM Prachanda submits resignation

Kathmandu, 4 May: Prime Minister Prachanda Monday submitted his resignation to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav.
Before submitting his resignation, Prachanda said there was ‘dual administration’ in the country after the president asked Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal to continue in office even after Maoists unilaterally sacked Katawal.
Maoists charged the president for an ‘unconstitutional and anti-democratic’ act.
Curfew was slapped in Panchthar district headquarters Monday after Maoist and Nepali Congress clashed during demonstrations for and against the Maoist decision to sack Katawal.
