Prachanda attending RIM meet in Europe

Kathmandu, 10 Aug: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda Saturday flew for London after likelihood of the leadership of the international revolutionary communist organization RIM coming into the hands of Nepal’s Maoists, Tarun reports.
Cp Gajurel, chief of the party’s foreign department, earlier used to attend RIM meetings.
Sources said Prachanda will attend the RIM meeting after imparting political training in London to party supporters.
Maoists have not only kept secret the venue of the RIM meet but also Prachanda’s candidature.
RIM has 14 revolutionary communist parties as members; RIM is headed by an American and high command consists of representatives of Nepal’s Maoists and Iran Communist Party.

Govt. confirms Maoist activist ambassador to France

Kathmandu, 10 Aug: In what appears like a new political understanding between the ruling coalition and the Maoists, Ram Karki alias Partha Chhetri will be Nepal’s new ambassador to Paris, newsfront reports.
Karki’s agremo that has already arrived will not be scrapped as per the understanding reached among the Congress, UML and the Maoist Party.
The decision to retain Karri and honour the agremo already received from the French government, ‘has been taken at political level and will be formalized soon’ a senior leader belonging to the ruling coalition told newsfront.
