Agreement was reached at the peace ministry.

Ambassadors appointed to India, USA
Kathmandu, 4 Aug: Dr Shanker Sharma and Rukma Shumshere Rana have been appointed ambassadors to USA and India respectively on Nepali Congress quota, Annapurna Post reports.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal proposed names of Murari Raj Sharma and Sujata Koirala recommended Suresh Chalishe as ambassador to UK; there was no agreement.

Kathmandu, 4 Aug: Government is sending a three-member team to South India to search for two priests for Pashupatinath temple, Naya Patrika reports.
There are two vacancies.

$25m ADB grant
Kathmandu, 4 Aug: Asian Development Bank (ADB) Monday gave a $ 25 million grant for the 2008 flood victims.
The money will be invested in rehabilitating and restoring damage in the east and far-West.

Nepal, Tibet talks
Kathmandu, 4 Aug: Talks will be held in Tibet from 10 August between representatives of eight Himalayan districts and Tibet officials, Rajdhani reports.
The talks were delayed for two because of financial constraints.
Talks will be held of border problems.

India deploys 27 battalions along border

Kathmandu, 4 Aug: India has deployed 27 battalions or 25,000 security personnel along the border in the south endangering national security, Dhristi reports.
The secret report was prepared by the home ministry.
The report was prepared at a time when border controversy is creating tension.
Analysts said sovereignty has been threatened.
Two weeks after the report was sent to the foreign ministry suggestions haven’t been implemented.
The foreign ministry has kept the prime minister preparing for an India visit in the dark.
According to a foreign ministry source, recommendation has been made to take up the issue during the India visit.
Such a report has been prepared for the first time.
The report says security personnel have been deployed by encroachment.

MJFN (Loktantrik) fourth largest party
Kathmandu, 4 Aug: MJFN (Loktantrik) has become the fourth largest party in parliament.
A signature of 28 of l54 members of MJF was submitted to Chairman Subash Nemwang Tuesday.
But election has given MJF official status.
