Govt. to tell world Maoists violated CPA; Maoists object

Kathmandu, 10 Dec: Maoist top leaders Thursday objected to ‘an unnatural decision’ of the cabinet to alter the international community to the violations of the comprehensive peace agreement (CPA) by Maoists.
The party decided to take up the issue with the prime minister.
Indicating worsening elations between government and Maoists, cabinet Wednesday to draw the attention of the concerned and international community to the widespread violation on the comprehensive peace agreement (CPA).
United Nations will also be informed.
Government will prepare a dossier of the violations.
Government spokesman Shanker Pokhrel revealed this at a new conference after the meeting.

Kathmandu, 10 Dec: A parliamentary hearing committee Thursday approved the appointment of Anup Raj Sharma as chief justice.
The constitutional council recommended Sharma’s name.

25,000 Bhutanese resettled in third countries

Kathmandu, 10 Dec: Altogether 25,000 Bhutanese refugees from east Nepal camps have been resettled in third counties since November 2007, International Organization for Migration (IOM) said.
Of them, 22,060 have been resettled in USA.
Of the 100,000 plus refugees in the camps in Nepal, forcibly displaced persons of Nepali ethnicity have been resettled in Australia, Canada, Norway, New Zealand and Netherlands as well.
The international community has indirectly accepted and condoned Bhutan’s ethnic cleansing drive.

France proposes extradition treaty

Kathmandu, 10 Dec: France has proposed an extradition treaty to try its citizens at home, Kantipur reports.
France presented a text of the proposed treaty to the government 26 August.
