Ruling parties, opposition maintain rigid stances (DEVELOPING STORY)


Kathmandu, 5 May: Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala Wednesday called for withdrawal of the crippling Maoist strike to create an environment for government change and dialoge.
But Maoist Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya Kiran said the anti-government won’t be withdrawn until Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal resigns as ruling parties and the main opposition continue to maintain rigid positions.
Without work, daily wage labourers have been affected the most.
Prices of essential goods have soared up.
Irate farmers supplying vegetables to urban areas, including the capital, have destroyed crops as vegetables rot.
