Three party summit ahead of CA session
Kathmandu, 24 May: Leaders of UCPN (Maoist), NC and UML began a meeting Monday at a hotel ahead of a parliamentary session to discuss the 8th amendment to the interim constitution to extend the tenure of the constituent assembly (CA) by one year.
Seven leaders of each party are holding discussions as the CA tenure ends Friday.
Maoist support is needed to approve the bill.
Meanwhile, a meeting of NC and UML concluded Maoists shouldn’t link the government effort to extend the CA tenure with the resignation of the prime minister.

Three members of family killed in gas cylinder burst
Kathmandu, 24 May: Three members of a family, including a one-year-old child, were killed in a fire after gas cylinder leak in Syambhu Monday morning.
Five others were injured.
