1,626 persons killed by Maoists declared martyrs
Kathmandu, 23 June: In a cabinet decision Wednesday, government declared 1,626 persons killed by Maoists during the 10-year Maoist insurgency martyrs.
Government Spokesman and Communication Minister Shanker Pokhrel said they were killed for their political beliefs.
The Maoist-led government of Prachanda declared 7,000 persons killed during insurgency martyrs in 2009.

Kishore Thapa tourism secretary
Kathmandu, 23 June: Kishore Thapa has been appointed tourism secretary.
Thapa was appointed Wednesday by the cabinet.
