Manisha Koirala to wed Saturday

Kathmandu, 19 June: Manisha Koirala, the first Nepali actress to his the big screen in Mumbai, will wed Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal Saturday at the Gokarna Forest Resort.
The couple, who met six months ago, were engaged Friday.
Manisha is the daughter of Prakash, who is a staunch monarchist.
The Bollyhood actress in the granddaughter of BP Koirala, Nepal’s first elected prime minister.

Cabinet meets amid crisis

Kathmandu, 19 June: The cabinet began meeting Saturday informally amid a crisis for the government and Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal who is consulting lawyers layer in the day.
Nepal decided this week to submit his resignation amid growing pressure from main opposition Maoists but top leaders of the premier’s party Friday asked his not to buckle under pressure.
The government is in crisis as it hasn’t been able to convene parliament to present the annual budget and present its plans and programmes to the legislature.
Ruling coalition party Nepali Congress has also staked a claim to form government.
Congress is divided on who should lead the successor government—Sher Bahadur Deuba or parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel.
Deuba led the rebel Nepali Congress democratic before reuniting.

Monsoon broke Thursday

Kathmandu, 19 June: To much relief of people and farmers, the annual monsoon broke over Nepal Thursday.
Meteorologist said the moon is still weak and will take some more days to pick up strength.

Former king offering puja at Shiva temple in Rautahat

Kathmandu, 19 June: Former King Gyanendra is offering puja at a Shiva temple in Rautahat Saturday.
He offered puja at the Gadimai temple in Bara Friday.
Making Simara his base, the last Shah king has been offering puja at temples in Bara and Parsa this week.
He has been welcomed by thousands of well-wishers.
The ousted king returns to the capital Sunday.

Sujata Koirala continues meetings in New Delhi

Kathmandu, 19 June: As the government is in crisis, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala attempted this week to strengthen her India connections in India.
She held discussions Friday with BJP leader LK Advani and national security advisor Shiva Shankar Menon.
