Nepali Congress to contest

Kathmandu, 15 July: Nepali Congress central committee Thursday decided to contest the post of prime minister.
The party candidate to succeed caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal of UML will be announced Saturday.
Vice-president and parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel and three-time prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba are the main contestants.
Acting President Sushil Koirala Thursday supported Paudel’s candidacy.
The president has set a 21 July deadline for the election.
