Kathmandu, 18 Oct.: Tika continued Monday one day after Sunday’s Bada Dashami.
This year’s Dasain was ‘hile’ or rainy.

ARMY CHIEF LEAVES FOR SOUTH KOREA

Kathmandu., 18 Oct. Army Chief Gen. Chatraman Singh Gurung left for South Korea Sunday to participate in a conference of 28 commanders of the Asian and Pacific region sponsored by USA and South Korea.
The meeting will discuss common security concerns of the region and strategies to handle the, until Friday.
Gen. Gurung just concluded a visit of United Kingdom.

MAOIST DISTRICT LEADER SHOT DEAD

Kathmandu, 18 Oct.: Maoist district leader Sita Ram Parthi, 40, was shot dead overnight at Udaipur in Kapilvasthu where the settlement is tense fter the murder.
A search has been launched for three suspects.
Parthi died instantly.

FORMER KING. QUEEN OFFER TIKA

Kathmandu, 18 Oct. Thousands of people queued up patientlyou7tside Nirmal Niwas for hours Sunday to receive tika on Bada Dasain from former King Gyanendra and Former Queen Komal from four in the afternoon.
RPP-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa, former Chairman of Raj Sabha Dr Keshar Jung Rayamajihi, Former Army Chief Pyar Jung Thapa and Manisha Koirala received tika from them at the porch of their residence.

TREMOR RECORDED

Kathmandu, 18 Oct.: A tremor was felt in the capital and surrounding areas at 1.56 in the morning Monday.
The epicenter of the quake measuring 5 on the Richter scale at 100km north of the capital in Xiangang, Tibet.

TWO BROTHERS KILLED IN NAWALPARASI

Kathmandu, 18 Oct.: Two brothers were killed in a knife attack at a village in Nawalparasi overnight.
The scuffle broke out in a squabble after a girl was teased.
The girl has been apprehended and three wanted persons have gone missing.
