INDIA CONCERNED SAYS GACHEDHAR
Kathmandu, 20 March: India is concerned with the delayed peace process and constitution drafting, MJF Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar said Sunday after returning home from New Delhi Sunday ad threatened s regional movement.
The MJF leader talked tough after returning home from India,
Gachedhar and chiefs of two other Madeshbadi parties held high-level political discussions with ruling party and opposition party leaders and senior government leaders.
Gachedhar warned a front of regional parties will launch the movement if a constitution isn’t promulgated by 28 May.
A published report said Sunday the trio also held discussions with leaders of thee armed rebel groups in the south bordering India on a regional strategy if a constitution isn’t drafted within the second deadline.

NC CENTRAL COMMITTEE NEXT SUNDAY
Kathmandu, 20 March: Main opposition NC has convened a meeting of the central committee next Sunday 27 March.
The party asked all committee members and office bearers to be present.
The committee hasn’t endorsed the appointments by party President Sushil Koirala of Vice-chairman Ram Chandra Paudel and General Secretary Krishna Prasad Shitaula amid opposition from the Sher Bahadur Deuba camp.
The two camps are almost equally represented in the committee.
Koirala has attempted to strengthen his hold on the party through nominations.

MY CHIEF VISITING USA
Kathmandu, 20 March: Army Chief Gen Chatra Man Singh Gurung is leaving for a week-long USA 26 March, Naya Patrika reports.
He’ll be honoured by the US Army Command and General Staff College from he completed his staff college.
He’ll participate in two programmes in New York and Washington DC.

FORMER MAOIST FIGHTERS UNPAID SINCE UNMIN WITHDRAWAL
Kathmandu, 20 March: Former Maoist fighters haven’t been paid since Paush [last three months] because of a dispute over witness, Annapurna Post reports.
Government had been distributing dole with UNMIN as witness.
The dole has been stopped because the special committee on integration hasn’t been specific.
Assistant Commander Basudeb Ghimere of the Fourth Division at Halikhor in Nawalparasi confirmed and said,” It’s been difficult to distribute the dole without clarity. It’s not clear if army personnel can be in team where civilian officials as witness.” he said.
After UNMIN quit [15 January], two representatives eachof Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Maoists are monitoring armies and weapons.

250 NEPALIS STRANDED IN MALAYSIA
Kathmandu, 20 March: The condition of nearly 250 Nepali workers is deteriorating every day because of delay in relief after expulsion from work, Ram Chandra reports from Kuala Lumpur in Kantipur.
Two hundred workers were thrown out by Mary Garment Company at Jahore three weeks ago,
Fifty workers have returned home.
Manpower agencies haven’t efforted alternative employment work for the workers.
