FOUR VEHICLES DAMAGED IN ATTACKS

Kathmandu, 27 May: Four vehicles were damaged in attacks for defying a strike called by various groups Friday, police said.
Several vehicles were set ablaze.
Groups pressing varied demands have been staging strikes head of Saturday when a deadline will be missed for the second time in one year to promulgate a constitution.
Brahmin Samaj closed down western region Friday.

NEPALI LANGUAGE GETS OFFICIAL RECOGNITION

Kathmandu, 27 May: Nepali is among six languages given recognition as language for official work in the Indian state of West Bengal from Friday , Nagarik reports.
New Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee made the announcement after a cabinet meeting Thursday.
The language will be recognized in areas in the district where 10 percent people live in a community.
