MAOIST LAWMAKER ARRESTED FOR STEALING ELECTRICITY

11 PARTIES TO OBSTRUCT PRESENTATION OF BUDGET BEFORE 28 MAY UPDATE

Kathmandu, 2 May; A meeting of 11parties convened by main opposition NC decided Monday to obstruct presentation of the annual budget 2011/12 by government before 28 May.
NC convened a meeting to discuss detailed programmes to obstruct budget presentation.
The parties will allow Speaker Subash Nemwang to read out a message from President Dr, Ram Baran Yadav announcing convening of the budget session by government.

THOUSANDS OF YOUTH BEGIN APPLYING FOR 7,100 JOBS IN SOUTH KOREA

Kathmandu, 2 May: Thousands of Nepali youth Monday began the first process to get work in South Korea under a scheme worked out by governments of Nepall ad South Korea.
There are 7,100 openings this year.
Long queues of youth waited for hours to collect application forms for jobs in outlets in the capital and Butwal.
Workers destined for South Korea will have to pass language test to secure a job.

MAOIST LAWMAKER ARRESTED FOR STEALING ELECTRICITY

Kathmandu, 2 May; Maoist lawmaker Indramati Yadav was arrested for stealing electricity in Kapilvasthu.
Yadav was freed after paying a Rs, 3,000 fine.
The lawmaker was arrested amid arrest of two lawmakers for forging selling their diplomatic passports as police continue investigation of possible involvement of other legislators.
