Kathmandu, 4 May: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal finally reshuffled his cabinet in more than three months and expanded it for the fourth time in more than three months and delivered the home ministry he was handling to Maoists creating a further rift in the party.
One more communist group and MJFN from terai also joined the communist grouping that has consolidated its absolute majority in the 598-member parliament. (MORE)

LAWMAKERS CHARGED FOR PASSPORT MISUSE

Kathmandu, 4 May: Cases were filed by police at Kathmandu district court Wednesday against two lawmakers, including a woman, for misuse of diplomatic passports under a passport act.
B.P.Yadav and Gayatri Sah were arrested 19 April when parliament was in session for selling their passports to two persons who attempted to enter Australia through Abu Dhabi from where immigration officials sent them m back to Nepal.
They face one year jail sentence or a Rs 500 fine or both, if convicted .

ACCHAM BUS ACCIDENT UPDATE

Kathmandu, 4 May: Sixteen persons died and 22 were injured when a night bus fell 300 meters off a mountain road in Accham Wednesday morning, fresh reports sid.
Fourteen passengers died on the spot.

LOCKS AT CANCER HOSPITAL BROKEN

Kathmandu, 4 May: Services didn’t resume Wednesday at B.P. Koirala Cancer Memorial Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan, as directed by supreme court Tuesday.
But rival unions loyal to parties removed locks at the door of administrative office Wednesday after two months.
Doctors from the hospital in the capital didn’t report to Chitwan for work.

RATO MACHINDRANATH IDOL INSTALLED IN CHARIOT

Kathmandu, 4 May: The idol of Rato Machindranath was installed in the chatriot at Phulchowk in Lalitpur Wednesday.
The chariot will be towed through Patan, Lagenkhel to Jawalakhel Friday.
The country’s longest festival will conclude with the display of the bhoto or vest at Jawalakhel at a date yet to be fixed by astrologers.
The original vest is on display at a museum in Los Angeles.
