$75 MILLION WB GRANT

WB PROVIDES $75 GRANT FOR PAF
Kathmandu, 13 July: World Bank (WB) Wednesday gave Nepal a second $75 million grant for the Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF), an announcement said,
Lal Shanker Ghimire, joint-secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Andras Horvai, World Bank Acting Country Manager for Nepal, signed the grant agreement.

A $65 million was contributed by International Development Association (IDA), a soft-lending window of WB and $10 million from the Global Food Price Response Program - a multi-donor trust fund.

The PAF has been supporting over 14,500 Community Organizations (COs) for the benefits of nearly 530,000 households in 40 poorest districts.

GOLD PRICE RECORDS NEW HIGH

Kathmandu, 13 July: Gold price Wednesday recorded a new high of Rs 43,500 per tola (11.664 grams) in the market
The yellow metal was bought and sold for Rs 43,300 23 June

The price of the yellow metal increased by Rs 400 per tola from Rs 43,100 per tola recorded on Tuesday.
Silver was traded for Rs 1,030 per tola
