CRUCIAL MAOIST, UML TALKS WEDNESDAY

MAOISTS ULTIMTUM TO PM

Kathmandu, 27 July: UCPN (Maoist)—a coalition partner of UML chaired by Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has given the government chief until Wednesday morning to administer oaths of office to a new Maoist team the latter is sending to government.
UML Tuesday ejected the 24-member Maoist team Tuesday saying reshuffle of the majority communist government with a new Maoist team would hinder implementing the 5-point tripartite agreement which extended the tenure of the constituent assembly by three months after 28 May.
A ceremony to install the new Maoist team Tuesday was halted.

ARMY CHIEF LEAVES FOR SINGAPORE WEDNESDAY

Kathmandu, 27 July:: Army Chief Gen. Chatraman Singh Gurung leaves for Singapore to attend a conference of the 7th. Pacific Armies Chiefs conference from 28 July.
He will also participate in the 35th Pacific Armies Management Seminar in the island state.

DRAGON AIR TO INCREASE FLIGHT FREQUENCY

Kathmandu, 27 July: Hong-Kong based Dragon Air will increase its thrice weekly flights between the island and Kathmandu from from 1 September in the autumn.
The additional flights will convenience with better quality service, the airline said.
