PM KHANAL BRIEFS PRESIDENT ON FAILED ATTEMPT TO PRESENT BUGDGET THURSDAY

Kathmandu, 15 July: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal Thursday briefed President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on a failed government effort to present the national budget 2011/12 in parliament
Two ruling parties UCPN (Maoist) and UML and main opposition NC are holding talks with a front of five Madeshbadi parties Friday in another bid to present the budget Friday.
Parliament meets at one in the afternoon Friday as the Big Three attempt to address Madesh demands; the front accuses government for ignoring their demands for inclusion of their demands in the national budget.
“The Madesh-based parties must be incorporated as a fourth force in national consensus on vital issues,” TMDP Vice-chairman Hridesh Tripathi.said.
The untimely budget presentation for three consecutive years after republic declaration has adversely impacted the national economy.

FOREIGN MINISTER UPENDRA YADAV IN SINGAPORE

Kathmandu, 15 July: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterUpendra Yadav has suddenly flown for Singapore, Kantipur reports.
Yadav flew for Singapore for a ‘medical check-up’ even as he has been asked to appear personally before a parliamentary hearing committee Sunday to confirm the nomination of Hari Kumar Shrestha as ambassador to Bangladesh,
An angry committee asked Yadav to personally present himself for the fourth hearing of the committee Sunday.
Yadav, who has absented himself for three consecutive meetings, is expected to return only Monday one day after the scheduled committee meeting..

ANFA PROBING MATCH FIXING CHARGE

Kathmandu, 15 July: ANFA has formed a five-member probe committee headed by ANFA Vice-president Mahesh Bista to probe a match fixing charge
Nepal Police has been asked to assist the probe which will report its finding to the national football governing body.
Koilapani Polestar Club claimed it was asked by two teams to throw away matches in the Martyrs Memorial A Division League.

Kathmandu, 15 July: A court in Qatar has instructed a company to
provide insurance money to the kin of eight if the12 Nepali workers killed in a ship two years ago, Dukuo Paudel in Repblica from Baglung.
Thee Qatar court has instructed HBK Power Cleaning Company to provide Qarar Riyal 200,000,approximately NRs 4 million each, to the kin of the victims,
The court, however, is yet to deliver its verdict in the cases of other four workers, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
