RPP-N BOYCOTTS HOUSE SESSION
Kathmandu, 22 Aug.: Immediately after the beginning of the Legislature-Parliament meeting on Monday, Parliamentary Party leader of Rastriya Prajantantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N), Chandra Bahadur Gurung (Syangja) expressed grave concern over the failure to deliver peace and constitution as per the people’s aspiration, RSS reports.

He protested against the extension of deadline by the President as demanded by the major political parties, saying the peace process and constitution writing process have failed to bear any fruit despite working for three years on it.

Following this, the CA members of the party boycotted the parliament, saying the government was just trying to further extend the term of the constituent assembly.

Meanwhile, Gopal Thakur of the CPN-UML termed the recent decision of the Supreme Court to name a costume of a certain ethnic community as the national attire as a feudal act. He questioned why such decision came at a time when the country has already become secular.

He demanded withdrawal of the SC’s decision to respect the diverse ethnic communities and lingual groups in the country. A single language and costume cannot be accepted in country, he argued.
