NEPAL DEFEATED BY INDIA IN SAFF
SEMI-FINAL OF U-19 CHAMPIONSHIP

Kathmandu, 8 Aug.: Nepal was defeated 5-3 y India in a semi-final tiebreaker of SAFF U-19 at Dashrath Rangashala Monday to enter the final .
India scored a goal in the last minute of the second half to level Nepal’s 1-0 lead.

BHUTANESE REFUGEE KILLED BY WILD ELEPHANT IN JHAPA CAMP

Kathmandu, 8 Aug.: Chandra Lal Darji, 37, a Bhutanese refuge at Beldangi camp, was killed by a wild elephant Monday.
Darji was killed while foraging in a nearby forest; another refugee escaped, police said.
Three refugees have been killed by wild elephants in Jhapa in 12 days.
More than 30,000 of 108,000 plus refugees in Jhapa camps have been resettled in USA in more than two years.

TOP UML FUNCTIONARY CONFIRMS PM KHANAL WILL RESIGN 13 AUGUST
Kathmandu, 8 Aug. A top functionary of ruling UML, leading the communist majority government, confirmed Monday Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal will resign 13 August ‘with or without completing the peace process”.
Secretary Yubaraj Geywali was talking to reporters in the capital.
Both Maoists and NC have laid claims to the leadership of a successor government without firm results.
Main opposition NC has been stalling parliament sessions demanding immediate resignation of Khanal who was installed in the first week of February following a seven-point secret agreement with Chairman Prachanda.
NC and a section in UML opposed the agreement.
