63 INJURED IN NEPAL QUAKE

Kathmandu, 19 Sept.: Sixty-three persons were injured in an overnight earthquake thathit Nepal and northeast India.
Five persons died
The biggest quake in 78 years killed five persons.
Houses have collapsed in the Valley and elsewhere.

BIJAYA KUMAR GACHEDHAR ACTING PM

Kathmandu, 19 Sept : Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar has taken over responsibilities of prime minister in the absence of Dr Baburam Bhattarai
Gachedhar is Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.
Bhattarai left for New York Sunday evening in his maiden foreign tour leading a 13-member Nepalese delegation to the 66th regular session of the UN General Assembly.
Wife Hisila Yami.is accompanying Bhattarai.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha and senior officials of the government.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN Gyan Chandra Acharya and other officials of the Permanent Mission will join the delegation in New York.

Prime Minister Bhattarai is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on September 24.

Bhattarai will attend a reception to be hosted by American President Barack Obama and the first lady in honor of the heads of the states or government attending the UN General Assembly, the foreign ministry said.
Prime Minister Bhattarai will return September 26.
