MAOIST STANDING COMMITTEE MEET STARTS UPDATE WITH OTHER DETAILS

Kathmandu, 3 Sept.: A Maoist standing committee meeting Maoist started Saturday amid deep differences in the party heading the government on handover of keys and containers with their weapons handed over to the UN.
The keys of the containers were with Maoists although they were verified and kept in containers by the UN whose political unit withdrew from Nepal 15 January.
The differences came out in the open Friday with a faction of First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya disrupting movement of vehicles on streets demanding withdrawal of the party ‘unilateral’ decision.
A meeting of five parties of Madeshbadi front to select its government team also started in Bhaktapur Saturday afternoon.
Main opposition NC central committee meet also got underway to review its defeat in parliamentary elections for prime minister.

LIGHTNING KILLS ONE WOMAN,INJURS SEVEN IN SINDHUPALCHOWK

Kathmandu, 3 Sept.: Overnight storm accompanied by lightning killed a woman in Piscar in Sindhuli.
Three children were among seven persons injured when lightning struck three villages in the district.
