MAOIST, NC MEET INCONCLUSIVE ON INTEGRATION; AGREE TO CONTINUE DIALOGUE
Kathmandu,14 Sept 14: Main opposition NC reiterated a package solution the new government of Baburam Bhattarai for integration of former Maoist fighters and related issues.
NC leader Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat,who is also a member of a special committee for integration, resettlement and supervision now headed new Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai revealed this.
Despite inconclusive talks, the two parties agreed to continue discussions
NC, without President Sushil Koirala, Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and top Maoist leaders participated in the dialogue.
More than 19,000 plus former combatants are awaiting integration at 28 satellite camps and
cantonments.
NC has agreed to integrate 4,000 former fighters while Maoists are pushing for mass integration of 7,000 former PLA combatants
The hastily drafted New Delhi agreement called the New Delhi accord betweenMaaoists and seven parliamentary parties is now a stumbling block in concluding the already delayed peace process.
It’s contents aren’t clear.
NC leader Chakra Prasad Koirala said on the 13th day of Girija Prasad Koirala’s death, India presented the draft on a paper drafted in pencil.
Bastola has since been sidelined in the party after the revelation.
Bastola is a nephew of Koirala who was in Delhi with Koirala during secret talks between self-exiled Maoists and parliamentary parties.

RAMAYAGYA PRASAD CHATURVEDI APPEARS IN COURT , LENIENCY SHOWN
Kathmandu, 14 Sept.: Former chief of Nepal Airlines Corporation Ramayagya Prasad Chaturvedi was sent to jail Wednesday by Kathmandu district court after conviction last week.
He personally presented himself before the court Wednesday
The court showed leniency after his personal presence.
Supreme court fined him Rs 13.9 million fine together with a 18-month hail sentence.
Chaturbedi settled a fine of Rs 11.1 million at district court Wednesday
