RAIN DISPLACES 2,000 HOUSEHOLDS IN MOHOTTARI
Kathmandu, 28 Sept.:: Normal life in Mahottari district has been hit hard due to a flood triggered by heavy downpour for the past few days, RSS reports from Bardibas..

According to the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee, the flood triggered by heavy rainfall since Sunday evening has displaced 2,000 households in some 40 VDCs in the district.

It is learnt that some 44,000 households have been affected by the flood in the district.

Similarly, the flood has damaged crops planted in some 5,000 hectares of land.

Meanwhile, many passengers have been left stranded on the midway due to the flood. The security forces have been assisting them reach destination, it is learnt.

10 KG SLIVER SILVER SEIZED IN HETAUDA
Kathmandu, 28 Sept.: Police seized around 10 kgs of silver and few silver coins while they were being smuggled to Kathmandu from Birgunj, RSSS reports from Hetauda.

Ratmate Police Post, Hetauda, confiscated the silver this morning from Sanjay Kumar Mishra, 38, of Chaurasiya of Babiya-4 of Parsa district. Police also arrested Mishra for necessary investigation, according to the District Police Office, Makawanpur.

Mishra had claimed that he was carrying the silver from a jewelry shop at Maisthan of Birgunj. Investigation over the case is underway.
