MORE DETAILS OF MAPIST CHIEF REACTION

Kathmandu, 28 Oct.: Chairman of the Unified CPN (Maoist), Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the peace process will conclude in a few days, RSS reports.

Speaking in a greetings exchange cum tea reception organized on the occasion of the Nepal Sambat New Year 1132 in Kirtipur on Friday, the Maoist chairman said that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission on the Status of the Disappeared People would also be formed within a few days.

He said the intensive discussions held with the Nepali Congress in the past few days has made him hopeful and that every possible effort would be made to bring the preliminary draft of the constitution within November 30.

The UCPN (Maoist) chairman who is also the former prime minister said a new constitution as desired by the Nepali people would be made by the Constituent Assembly itself even by extending its term.

Central members of the UCPN (Maoist), CA members from that party, party cadres and local people attended the reception.

EFFORT TO DRAW FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN INFORMATION NETWORK

Kathmandu, 28 Oct.:: The government has started the process of
developing a comprehensive information network on investment for drawing in foreign direct investment in the country, RSS reports.

The government has proceeded ahead with the process of developing the network in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation and the Federation Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in view of the Investment Year 2012.


Information on the prospective sectors for investment by the foreign investors, legal provisions and the services and security to be provided by the Government of Nepal will be included in the information network, Industry Secretary Shankar Koirala said.

According to Koirala, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry have identified 50 different sectors as infrastructure development, special economic zones, hydropower and tourism with the cooperation of the International Finance Corporation and the FNCCI.

Secretary Koirala also said that the government was preparing to organize a conference on investment for drawing in foreign direct investment into the country.
