PM BHATTARAI CALLS ON PRESIDENT PATIL UPDATE INDIA VISIT
Kathmandu, 21 Oct.: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai had a courtesy call on Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Friday, RSS reports from New Delhi

During the meeting held at the Rastrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, the two held discussions on matters of bilateral interest.

Meanwhile, PM Bhattarai and Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna also held talks for around one hour Hotel Leela in New Delhi today.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai and Indian Foreign Minister Krishna called for paying special attention for the economic development of Nepal.

Emerging from the meeting, Foreign Minister Krishna said “We discussed on managing Nepal-India border problems.” The meeting also discussed for necessary Indian cooperation to promulgate constitution and for taking the peace process to its logical conclusion, he added.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad and Charge de’ Affairs of Nepal to India Khagaraj Adhikari, among others were also present on the occasion.

NO TRUST BETWEEN PARTIES AFTER LAST POPULAR ELECTION: PRAKASH MAN SINGH

Kathmandu, 21 Oct.: Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary, Prakash Man Singh has said the twin tasks of peace and constitution-making have not moved ahead due to growing mistrust among the political parties, RSS reports.

Leader Singh made this remark at a sum-up function of the nine-day Self Leadership Development Training organized by Hamro Abhiyan Nepal, a NGO.
He argued that the consensus to conclude the peace process within six months and complete the constitution drafting process within two years has not been materialized when the trust and understandings built among the parties during the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections are not followed in the present days.

It will take some more time to conclude the peace process since efforts are being made to explore the resolution within the country, leader Singh noted, adding time is being spent in finding out a meeting line between the Maoist combatants and professional army.

Consensus has not been reached on the army integration process in the absence of clear vision within the UCPN (Maoist), he claimed, adding the NC and UML are clear on their lines.

On the occasion, organizing body chair, UP Lamichhane informed that the organization has been imparting various training for the leadership development of youths for the past five years.

Some 53 youths from different parts of the country took part in the training.
