BHATTARAI GOVT. A BURDEN SAYS UML CHAIRMAN KHANAL

Kathmandu, 17 Nov.: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN-UML Jhala Nath Khanal said on Thursday that the government led by the UCPN-Maoist is a burden for the people and claimed that the government will step down shortly, RSS reports from Kaski.

Khanal expressed this view while inaugurating the Gandaki Zonal level cadres' gathering at Pokhara City Hall organised by the CPN-UML, Gandaki Zone on today.

"A jumbo cabinet headed by Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai is a burden for people, so it will fall down immediately as people will not be able to sustain this any more,” he said.

Blaming the government was indifferent in implementing the seven-point agreement, Khanal said the internal disputes surfaced in the Maoist party will hamper the implementation of the agreement.

National consensus government for the peace and constitution sought by the CPN-UML is a need of the day, the former PM said, adding that the peace and constitution drafting processes would not be completed unless a national consensus government was formed.

More than 700 leading workers of the party had participated in the gathering.
