UPDATE BIG THREE AND MADESHBADI FRONT AGREE TO IMPLEMENT THEE-POINT AGREEMENT
Kathmandu, 29 Nov.: The Big Three and a front of Madeshbadi
parties agreed at a meeting Friday morning to extend the constituent
assembly (CA) tenure by another six months.
The three-month extended tenure ends Wednesday 30 November.
The meeting agreed to form a national government amid differences between major parties who should lead a successor government of
Baburam Bhattarai.
Ruling parties contend the incumbent government should take form
of a national government.
The major parties agreed to implement a 7-point agreement between
the opposition and ruling parties.
The decision to extend the CA term by six months ensures the
approval of a government bill in parliament later Tuesday to amend an interim constitution for the 11th time to extend the CA tenure.
