MAOIST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET ABRUPTLY POSTPONED UPDATE

Kathmandu, 15 Nov.: A meeting of the Maoist central committee scheduled to meet Tuesday was postponed until Thursday.
A meeting of office bearers called for time to prepare for Wednesday’s parliament which meets to approve the 11th amendment to the interim constitution to form a committee of experts to suggest a federal
system, Spokesman and Education Minister Dinanath Sharma said.
The anti-party faction group Monday registered a 13-point paper challenging the plans and programmes of Chairman Prachanda contained in a political report.

The appeal is an attempt to scuttle government’s and the UCPN (Maoist) plans to complete the peace process through integration, resettlement and voluntary retirement.
The two anti-party faction in the party leading the government called the integration schedule announced Monday a dishonourable completion of the peace process.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattrai admitted Tuesday the peace process and constitution won’t b completed by the 30 November deadline and asked for a six-month extension of the constituent assembly.
The extension would be the last, he said.
He told Kantipur Television a basic draft of a constitution would be ready by the deadline.
