PM, PRESIDENT MEET UPDATE

Kathmandu, 14 Nov.: Prime Minister Baburam Bhatattarai Monday briefed President on the details of bilateral talks with leaders of other
SAARC members on the sidelines of the eight-nation summit in
Maldives last week, a press aide of the government chief said.
The premier held talks with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other South Asian leaders.
The prime minister and the president also discussed the cabinet recommendation to the head of state a cabinet recommendation to
amnesty a Maoist lawmaker convicted to a life term by the
supreme court for murder with confiscation of property.
PM Bhattarai also told the president he had started consultations with
party leaders on the proposed amnesty.

800 TOURISTS AGAIN STRANDED IN EVEREST REGION

Kathmandu, 14 Nov.: Eight hundred tourists have again been stranded in the Mount Everest region are for the last three days because of deteriorating weather.
Flights between the capital and two airports at Lukla and Phaplu in the Everest region haven’t landed to taken off Monday.
More than 3,500 tourists, mainly trekkers, were stranded for nearly
seven days last week.
