SUPPORT FOR AND AGAINST TUESDAY’S SEVEN-POINT AGREEMENT IN UCCPN (MAOIST)
Kathmandu, 2 Nov.: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that the consensus made on Tuesday for concluding peace process and constitution writing was historic, RSS
reports.
Top leaders of the main political parties of the UCPN-Maoist, the Nepali Congress, the CPN-UML and the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha had signed on the seven-point agreement to complete the remaining works of peace process and constitution writing.

Addressing the programme organized today
[Wednesday] on the concluding ceremony of the Chhath festival, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai made commitment to completing peace process and constitution writing during his tenure.

Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai further said he has given the first priority to completing the twin historical tasks and said that his future has been linked with the success or failure of the twin tasks.

I have brought various programmes with priority for the economic development and have wanted to make an end to unemployment, added Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai.

Senior leader of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal expressed the confidence that the seven-point agreement made on Tuesday will complete the peace process and constitution writing.
SCHEDULE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF ITEMS

The first meeting of a special committee for
Integration, resettlement and supervision of 19,000 plus former combatants asked its secretariat Wednesday to
prepare a schedule for implementation of articles in Tuesday’s agreement

normal.
“The differences in the party are normal. The agreement should be taken as a goodwill of the international community.
The result was seen yesterday,” BHattarai said referring to his visits to UN and India.
NC General Secretary Krishna Prasad Shitaula said the agreement won’t be affected by protests.

PM India visit has enhanced bilateral ties


Kathmandu, 2 Nov.: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad has said that India’s development depends on Nepal’s prosperity, RSS reports from Nepalgunj.

Inaugurating the new building of the Dhambojhi Higher Secondary School constructed with the cooperation of the Indian government, he said the recent visit of Prime Minster Dr. Baburam Bhattarai had enhanced the harmonious relations between the two countries.

He also stressed on the need of long term partnership between the two countries.

At the programme presided over by LDO Guru Prasad Subedi, CDO Krishna Chandra Ghimire, School Management Committee Chairman Dhan Bahadur Chand and Principal Kiran Acharya said the relations of the two countries will be further strengthened with the cooperative spirit.

Prasad also gave away eye glasses to 13 visually impaired students under the Nepal India friendship free school eye treatment programme provided by the Fattebal Eye Hospital.

Indian government had provided Rs. 17.45 million as grant for the school building.

More than 1,000 students study in the school.The ambassador also visited the eye hospital.

Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee Ratan Kumar Tandan familiarised the ambassador about the progress of the hospital.
