EXTENDED PROLONGED COLD WAVE OVER CENTRALTERAI ENDS

SUPREME COURT DECISION BINDING

Kathmandu, 25 Dec.: Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi said Sunday a
historic supreme court verdict that ruled the six-month constituent assembly (CA) extension would be the last binding.
Chief Justice Regmi said this in Tansen, Palpa.
‘It’s binding,” he told his audience
The verdict, he said, was an explanation following a ‘review and the country’s situation”.
‘It’s a political and legal explanation,” he said, and added the apex court had the right of judicial review.
The statement also cane at a time when the
government and parliament are making moves to ask the court to review its decision.

COLD WAVE ENDS IN TERAI

Kathmandu, 25 Dec.: The extended cold wave over central terai districts ended Sunday afternoon as the sun appeared over Bara, Parsam Rauahat, Dhansha Mohottari and other districts for the first time in early two weeks.
The sun broke through the fog, mist and gaze bringing joy and relief to the residents.
Thousands of residents rushed to markets that opened and people sunbathed on rooftops to dry clothes.
Airports reopened and schools that were closed because of the biting cold will reopen Monday.
Residents described the extended chill as the worst in nearly two decades.
The cold wave claimed in the Himalayan, hill and the terai regions claimed more than 40 lives.
