MADESH LEADER INJURED IN FIRING
Kathmandu,26 Jan.: An unidentified group opened fire at Siraha District Chairperson of Madhesi People's Rights Forum-Democratic, Ram Charitra Saha last night [Wednesday], RSSreports from Lahan.

Saha, who received bullet injury on his body at around 1 PM, is being treated at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar.

Saha is a local of Durgapur VDC-1 of Siraha.

The group made him target while he was asleep at the home of Udaya Narayan Mahato in Asanpur-6, said Area Police Office, Golbazaar.

Though police declined to disclose the reason behind the shootout, locals suspected that an unidentified person might have opened fire at Saha taking up his illicit relation with a woman of the same house.

Earlier too, locals had thrashed Saha at the home and warned him not to visit the house next time, said villagers.

PM BHATTARAI ANNOUNCING ECONOMIC PACKAGE THURSDAY
Kathmandu, 26 Jan.: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai is
announcing a special economic package after cabinet approval
Thursday, Finance Minister Barshaman Singh Pun said.
The package was prepared by the finance ministry and aides of the premier during a two-day recess at Dhulikhel last week.
The package comes one day after Pun announced a rosy economic picture of the country under a Maoist government.

RAK AIRWAYS FLYING TO NEPOAL FROM UAE

RPP-N PICKETS TKANKOT NOC DEPOT
Kathmandu, Jan 26: Party workers of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) have picketed the Thankot depot of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on Thursday morning so as to protest the shortage of petroleum products even amidst the hike of fuel

Following the demonstrations and protests, Nagdhunga- Kalanki road section has been obstructed, sources confirmed.
Only yesterday, thirteen student unions and eight youth associations had imposed a general strike against hike in petroleum prices.
The government had hiked the fuel prices effective from January 13 where the consumers have to pay Rs 175 in LP gas, Rs 10 per litre in petrol and Rs 9 per litre in diesel and kerosene.
