ANOTHER MAN SHOT DEAD IN RAUTAHAT
Kathmandu, 13 Jan.: Mohammad Shokh Saroj was shot dead by his neighbor Sheikh Jubair in Jingdiya VDC, Rautahat Friday, police said. There There was a personal feud between the two.
Sheikh has been arrested.

ANOTHER INSIGHT INTO FOREIGN INTFRENCE IN NEPAL POLITICS
Kathmandu, 13 Jan.:: Central Committee Member of the Nepali Congress (NC), Dr Shekhar Koirala has said the consensus on mixed form of governance reached in Zurich of Switzerland was not official, RSS reports from Butwal.
Speaking at a news conference here on Friday, Koirala said Zurich agreement was not acceptable to the NC, though the mixed system as a form of governance was not wrong.
The NC leader said, "Zurich agreement was personal though it was true that leaders discussed the issues in Switzerland."
Koirala said reformed parliamentary system was appropriate in the country as the presidential system would bring stability but it would invite totalitarianism while the parliamentary system was democratic but would not deliver political stability.
In different note, the NC leader further said that the NC was not in favor of integrating the PLA combatants by giving the post of Major General of the Nepal Army to them.

TERAI OUTFIT GIVES UP VIOLENCE
Kathmandu, 13 Jan.: The Saptari District coordinator of Samyukta Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (SJTMM) has given up underground movement, RSS reports from Rajbiraj.
Anil Kumar Yadav aka Devram, 23, the Morcha district coordinator announced the decesion in the presence of Chief District Officer, Lekhnath Pokhrel, District Police Chief Ganesh Bahadur Thapa and local peace committee office-bearers on Friday, according to CDO Pokhrel.
Yadav said he decided to come out in the public along with four home-made pistols in the context of the Morcha preparing to hold talks with the government. The SJTMM is one the many Tarai-based outfits waging struggle against the State.
Yadav has said that he got nothing from his three-year underground life and has decided to spend rest of his life in social service. He accused the central leadership of the Morcha of sticking to the petty interests.
Mr. Yadav went underground as a cadre of the All Terai Mukti Morcha led by Jaykrishna Goit some three years ago and was the district coordinator of SJTTM led by Udaykant Mishra for the past one year.
According to secretary of local peace committee Rajaram Yadav, other cadres of the Morcha are also preparing to come over ground within the next few days.

NO HOME MINISTRY INTFERENCE ON POLICE SAYS HOME MINISTER
Kathmandu 13 Jan..: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Bijay Kumar Gachhadar has claimed that he has not interfered in the Police Administration at all, RSS reports.

Inaugurating the Third National Conference and the 20th Annual General Meeting of the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (NEGOSIDA), on Friday, Gachchhadar said he has trimmed back interference in the police administration to zero and created an environment conducive for working independently.

"I never phone or direct the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and the Chief District Officer crossing the chain of command," said the Home Minister, adding that he carried out his work through the bodies concerned as per the due process.

He said he had directed the police officers not to take orders from any leader or cadres of the political parties issued over the phone. "No compromises will be made with anybody in matters of maintaining peace and security," he added.

Deputy Prime Minister Gachhadar said he had given special instructions to the police administration for providing security to the gold and silver entrepreneurs.

He said, "It is not possible to totally control criminal activities until the political transition was ended though it could be controlled to some extent".

The Home Minister said there was need of around 42,000 extra manpower in the police force in present condition.
