Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: The first ministerial-level Indo-Nepal energy and irrigation talks are being in New Delhi Wednesday.
Energy Minister Post Bahadur Bogati reached the Indian capital
Tuesday for Wednesday’s talks; the Indian side is led by Bogati’s counterpart Pawan Kumar Paswan.
Power trade agreement, import of 145MW electricity, construction of power transmission lines will be raised by Nepal.
India is prioritizing implementation of Pancheshwor power project and the Koshi high dam.

UML CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET

Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: UML central committee meets Wednesday to discuss a federal structure and other issues.
The second largest opposition party’s federal affairs division Tuesday
presented two alternative proposals for eight and 12 provinces in a
federal structure to Chairman Jhalanath Khanal who’s presenting the
report at the central committee meeting Tuesday.

SANIMA BANK STARTS OPERATIONS AS COMMERCIAL
BANK

Kathmandu, 15 Feb.; Sanima Bank, promoted mainly by non-resident Nepalis, starts operations as the 32nd commercial bank after being upgraded from a development bank by Nepal Rashtra Bank.
The bank is headquartered at Narayanchaur in the capital.

BIRD FLU DETECTED IN VALLEY CROWS

Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: Bird flu virus has been detected in dead crown
by a British laboratory following tests, Rajesh Barma reports in Annapurna Post.
But the discovery has been concealed.
