MAOISTS DISCUSS INTEGRATION INSIDE PARTY

MAOIST MILITARY WING DISCUSS INTEGRATION IN NEPAL ARMY
Kathmandu, 18 Feb.: The Maoist PLA combatants are holding Informal discussion in connection with their preparation for army integration and will reach to conclusion within a few days, said the Maoist PLA sources, RSS reports.

Discussion is being held on the agenda of integration among the PLA chief and commanders of all the seven divisions, Maoist PLA spokesperson Chandra Prakash Khanal .

He informed that directive has been circulated to make up mind and have the respective PLA members informed about the integration.

Political consensus on the integration among the political parties will be acceptable, he said, adding he has urged the political leadership to chart out framework of army integration so that it would pay due respect to the sacrifice and contribution of the PLA.

The party leadership has assured us of accomplishing the army integration process being sensitive to the dignity of PLA, said the PLA commanders.

As it was set to hold discussion with party chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal today about the issue, it could not take place due to busy schedule of the chairperson.

Around 7,000 Maoist combatants have already opted for voluntary retirement and 9,200 combatants are going for integration process.

Earlier, it was agreed among the political parties to integrate some 6,500 Maoist combatants in the Nepal Army.

The Dailekh protest was led by central member Harka
Bahadur Shahi who is aligned with First Vice-chairman
Mohan Baidya.

GACHHADAR REITERATES SUPPORT FOR BABURAM BHATTARAI GOVT.

Kathmandu, 18 Feb : Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar Saturday reiterated his ands his party ;s support for the government of Prime Minister Bhattarai whose resignation is being pressed by the UCPN Maoist.
Gachhadar lent the support at a public meeting in Banepa.

FEDERALISM SHOULD GUARANTEE NATIONAL INTEGRITY SAYS PRESIDNT
Kathmandu, 18 Feb.: President Dr Rambaran Yadav has said the national integrity should be maintained while taking the nation towards federal structure, RSS reports from Kavre.

Inaugurating the Kavre Fair that began at Janagal in Kavre from Saturday, President Dr Yadav said all Nepali people first wish to introduce themselves as the people of the country where the Lord Buddha was born and the Mount Everest is located then after only the people belonging to Himal, Pahad and Madhes.

Expressing concerns over the remarks by some of the incumbent ministers and the political leaders intended in breaking up political ties, the President suggested to the political parties to work together so as to conclude the peace process and constitution drafting process in the slated timeframe.

Stressing the need of further promoting the Nepali culture and identity, the President said identity of all castes, communities and religion and culture should be guaranteed while restructuring the State.

Promotion of foreign investment and development of the industrial sector was possible only after the completion of the peace and constitution drafting, he added.

Though the Nepal Government has already announced the year 2012 as the 'Investment Year', atmosphere of investment could not be created as the lasting peace was yet to be established in the country.

Also speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Energy Suryaman Dong underlined the need of concluding the peace and constitution drafting so as to take the country to a right track.

Some 175 stalls have been put up in the fair organised by the Kavre Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event would last on February 26. The fair is expected to make financial transactions worth Rs 50 million.

NEMWANG URGES INTENSIFIED DISCUSSION
Kathmandu, 18 Feb.:: Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Subash Nembang has said the leaders of main political parties are in need of intensifying discussion to settle contentious issues of the constitution-writing, RSS reports from Lalitpur.



Inaugurating the 11th National general convention of the Private and Boarding Schools' Organisation, Nepal (PABSON) here on Saturday, Chairman Nembang said it would be difficult to bring constitution on time if the discussion was not held regularly.

He, however, said important decision would be made on army integration soon.

Chairman Nembang urged the PABSON to cater quality education to the students.



In the programme, the educationists stressed that the State should bring a concept on private schools.



The national convention of the PABSON would elect new working committee.
