PARTIES SUBMITTING MEMORANDUM TO PM THURSDAY

Kathmandu, 16 Feb: A meeting of fringe parties in parliament
at a meeting sponsored by main opposition NC agreed to draw the ‘serious attention’ of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to the
obstruction by the party leading the government to passage of
three bills on money laundering
A hard-line faction of the ruling UCPN (Maoist) obstructed the passage of the government-sponsored bills.
The meeting was convened Thursday to discuss endorsement
by parliament of an anti-money laundering bills
Bills pending are an extradition treaty, mutual legal cooperation, extradition treaty and fighting organized crimes
Non-endorsement of the bills will undermine Nepal´s image in the international community with possible blacklisted by the international community, the meeting warned.
The parties urged parliamentary endorsement of bills with rectification of shortcomings.
